Online video (OLV) ads are in-stream (before, during or after video content) and out-stream (in non-video environments between text and images) ads across desktop, mobile, and tablet. Online video ads appear on Amazon-affiliated properties like IMDb.com, Twitch, Amazon Alexa, as well as top third-party publishers. To learn more about OLV, click here.

MPEG-2 Video is compatible with MPG, MPEG, M2P, M2T, M2TS, PS and TS files.

Third-party serving

Advertisers can use third-party video tags from an Amazon certified third-party vendor. The tags must be Inline VAST 2.0 or VAST 3.0, and may include VPAID 2. We do not accept VPAID or Wrapper Tags.

Viewability

Video viewability should be measured using VPAID tags from one of the approved vendors.

CORS header formatting

In order for JavaScript video players to accept a VAST response, ad servers have to include a Cross Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) header formatted as:

Access-Control-Allow-Origin: <origin header value>
Access-Control-Allow-Credentials: true

Without a valid VAST response, a video creative will not serve on Amazon-owned sites. This ensures a positive experience for Amazon’s customers.

Customers can click to see more details of the featured products or click on Call-to-action (CTA) button for various actions related to the Ad (e.g. “Learn More”, “Visit Site”, “Download App”). Supercharge your ad performance and unlock new insights with interactive vertical video ads. Please note, interactive vertical video ad availability may vary by locale or publishers.

Interactive video ad elements must:

  • Drive to an app or page that complies with Amazon specs and policies
  • Drive to a site, mobile app, or app store that is mobile-optimized

Interactive video ad elements must not:

  • Obstruct any disclaimers, disclosures, claims, product information, or rating information
  • Obstruct text or primary content
  • Obstruct entire visuals of the primary product shot or primary logo being advertised

If your ad does not meet interactive vertical video OLV ad policy but does meet our general OLV vertical video ad policies, your ad is still eligible to serve with OLV without interactivity.
