Building connections with shoppable images on your Store

Stores give you the flexibility to add a range of content to bring your brand to life and help drive attention, excitement, and sales.

For example, shoppable images can inspire customers with high-quality lifestyle visuals that feature your products in different settings with complementary products in your portfolio. Additionally, customers can click on the featured products to see basic information, such as name, price, customer ratings, and Prime availability. Shoppers can add the product directly to their cart or easily navigate to the product detail page.

Ways to use shoppable images in your Store

Did you know?

Advertisers who add a shoppable image to their Store for the first time see an average 53% increase in shopper dwell time in the next two months, compared to those who don’t.1

Four ways to use shoppable images in your Store:

  1. Promote your best-selling products: Highlighting them on your Store brings them to life and can help shoppers find what they’re already looking for. The shoppable image allows visitors to see the product in a real-life setup and use the Add to Cart button, which could help increase your sales.
  2. Promote complementary and supplementary products: With shoppable images, you can help shoppers see how multiple products in your portfolio fit together, which can help inspire shoppers to expand their interest and consider something new or different.
  3. Feature new arrivals: Promote the newest products in your catalog to reengage returning audiences and educate first-time shoppers on what your brand has to offer. Let shoppers know that your brand is growing and that Stores are the place to find the latest offers.
  4. Highlight your deals: Shoppers often explore Amazon for the latest deals. Whether key deals are seasonal or leading up to a major shopping event, displaying them in a shoppable image can be a great way to engage customers.

Tips and guidelines for adding a shoppable image in your Store

Keep the focus on the product

Make sure that the product is the main focus and does not get lost in the image you’re using. Avoid images that are too saturated with other elements or feature a visually noisy background. Below is an example of a shoppable image where the focus is placed on the product vs. one where the product is “lost” within the image.

Make sure there’s a match between the product(s) shown and the ASIN(s)

Customers expect the product on a shoppable image to be exactly the same as the one they’ll receive if they decide to buy it. Our policies require that the products shown in a shoppable image match exactly in terms of color, size, texture, etc., with what’s shown in the product detail pages of those products.

Take into consideration the location of the clickable circle

The black-and-white clickable circles on a shoppable image can be placed near in the ASIN “contained” within these circles, but there’s a couple of more things we can consider for the placement of these circles:

  • Place the circle right next to the product and not on it, to avoid changing the appearance of the product or making the circle look like part of the product.
  • Place the circle where there’s enough color contrast to make it easily visible.

Avoid using text

To keep the focus on the product, we recommend not using text on a shoppable image. Not using text is also a great way to leverage this image across different placements, such as Sponsored Brands ads or Posts where the use of text is not allowed. If text is going to be used, try to limit the amount of text to just a couple of words and consider the following:

  • Check that the text is legible on mobile, especially when using a full-width shoppable image
  • Confirm that the “See products” CTA is not on top of any text, either on desktop and mobile
  • Confirm that the black-and-white clickable circles are not on top of any text
