Credit card payments for sellers in Mexico

What’s been launched?

Since 12 January 2021, sellers on Amazon.com.mx can use credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Amex) to pay for their advertising fees generated from using Sponsored Products and/or Sponsored Brands to advertise on Amazon.com.mx. This gives sellers on Amazon.com.mx access to the same payment methods available in other countries.

Why is it important?

Before credit cards were enabled as a sponsored ads payment method, sellers on Amazon.com.mx paid their advertising fees from their seller account balance. This required sellers to have sufficient funds to cover advertising fees. This feature now allows sellers to advertise their products prior to generating sales, enabling them to reach shoppers to help improve visibility of their brand and boost sales.
