App-ads.txt now supported by Amazon DSP
31 January 2021
What has been launched?
Amazon DSP now supports the app-ads.txt standard to identify and filter bid requests from unauthorised sellers. Amazon DSP campaigns run on applicable third-party app inventory are now automatically protected against certain types of app spoofing.
Why is it important?
The app-ads.txt standard was launched by the IAB Tech Lab to help combat app spoofing, which is a type of ad fraud in which app identifier fields are misrepresented. Publishers that adopt this standard help prevent unauthorised sellers from spoofing their app inventory and siphoning ad dollars away from legitimate inventory. By filtering unauthorised ad requests, Amazon DSP protects advertiser spend from potentially fraudulent app inventory.
