Amazon MGM Studios earns 62 Emmy Award nominations, led by Fallout and Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Amazon MGM Studios has received 62 nominations for the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, including 17 for Fallout and 16 for Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Fallout, the radiation-fuelled post-apocalyptic sci-fi show based on the video game franchise, earned major nominations for Outstanding Drama Series and Lead Actor in a Drama Series for star Walton Goggins. Mr. & Mrs. Smith, the spy thriller starring Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, has been nominated for Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Actor and Actress for Glover and Erskine. Fargo, The Voice, Survivor, Shark Tank, Vanderpump Rules, Invincible, Tig Notaro: Hello Again, and Red, White & Royal Blue are also among the list of nominations for Amazon MGM Studios.
After a phenomenal debut in April that reached a global audience of nearly 80 million in its first month, Prime Video announced that Fallout, from executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, had been renewed for a second season. Mr. & Mrs. Smith, which debuted in February, became a top series on Prime Video in more than 130 countries and has been renewed for a second season.
The 2024 Emmy nominations continue a banner year for Amazon MGM Studios. In March, American Fiction, the social satire from director Cord Jefferson and starring Jeffrey Wright, won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. The film, which was nominated for five Oscars, including Best Picture, is based on the 2001 novel Erasure by Percival Everett. Wright and Sterling K. Brown were nominated for acting categories in lead and supporting role, respectively. The film also received a nomination for Best Original Score. In January, Amazon MGM Studios also had its biggest showing ever at the Golden Globe Awards with 16 nominations.
This year also marks the first in which brands can reach millions of Prime Video viewers with Streaming TV ads in shows and films. Ads in Prime Video content have been introduced in the US, UK, Germany, Austria, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Mexico and Australia. At its first-ever upfront presentation in May, Amazon highlighted the scale of its premium content offerings anchored by Prime Video, which has an average monthly ad-supported reach of 200 million global customers.

In the months ahead, Prime Video has an exciting lineup of highly anticipated new shows and films, including the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, the debut of Cross based on the James Patterson novels, and You’re Cordially Invited starring Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell.
