Goals
Boost Oxygen, a U.S.-based brand recognized for their portable pure oxygen canisters, faced a pivotal moment when they decided to enter the competitive hydration packet category. With a new electrolyte product featuring a bicarbonate formula designed to hydrate and oxygenate the body, Boost Oxygen needed to build awareness among new audiences in a competitive category. The challenge was twofold: the brand had to introduce an entirely new product line, while also driving cross-selling opportunities with their existing oxygen canister products.
As a smaller company where team members wear many hats, Boost Oxygen needed a cost-effective and time-efficient way to produce high-quality video creative for streaming TV and online video campaigns. Traditional video production had previously taken two to three months and required studio shoots with multiple rounds of revisions. This timeline did not align with the brand’s goal of launching an upper-funnel awareness campaign before Prime Day – a key moment to capture the attention of engaged audiences. Boost Oxygen turned to Amazon Ads to explore how AI-powered video generation could help the brand move faster, reduce production costs, and build demand for their hydration packets in the lead-up to one of the year's biggest shopping events.
Approach
Boost Oxygen collaborated with Amazon Ads to produce AI-powered video creative for their new hydration packets. The teams used the brand toolkit, existing video assets, 3D product renderings and detailed imagery to provide Creative Agent comprehensive reference points for maintaining brand and product fidelity. The storyboard depicted an athlete working out and running on a track, showcasing how the hydration packet fits into an active recovery routine – a narrative that reinforced Boost Oxygen’s identity as a brand rooted in performance and oxygenation. A couple of rounds of storyboard revisions and video edits were needed, with adjustments focused on product rendering details such as the appearance of the liquid mix and end-card visuals.
Boost Oxygen launched the AI-powered video creative across both streaming TV and online video placements as part of their upper-funnel strategy – reaching audiences who had previously purchased the brand’s products. This approach aimed to introduce existing customers to the new hydration line while building broader awareness ahead of Prime Day, where the brand was running deals on their two hydration packet listings. To evaluate the effectiveness of AI-powered video creative, the team conducted a sequential comparison against a traditionally produced creative – each spanning a 60-day window.
Rob Neuner, CEO, Boost OxygenFrom concept to a running campaign took only two weeks. The results were better than what we were expecting.
Results
The AI-powered video creative generated more engagement than anticipated – capturing attention and driving meaningful interactions. The AI-powered video creative delivered a 20% increase in branded searches compared to the traditionally produced creative – signalling incremental brand recall and awareness among exposed audiences.1 Detail page views grew by 13%, demonstrating that the creative drove more shoppers to explore the product.2 New-to-brand sales increased by 12%, an encouraging result given that conversions were not the primary objective of this upper-funnel campaign.3
The campaign proved that AI-powered video generation can match or outperform traditionally produced creatives – while compressing the typical two-to-three-month production timeline to just two weeks and significantly reducing costs. Looking ahead, Boost Oxygen plans to use AI-powered video generation in future campaigns and explore additional use cases, including updating creative for new packaging, producing format variations and customizing messaging for different audience segments. This approach demonstrates how AI can serve as an accelerator for brands with lean teams and ambitious growth goals.
