Delivering insights through the Amazon Shopper Panel

The Amazon Shopper Panel is an opt-in, invitation-only program through which panelists can earn monthly rewards for their participation—specifically, choosing to share receipts from purchases made at stores other than Amazon or completing short surveys. Participation in the panel helps brands offer better products and improve the relevance of ads. The panel also helps provide brands with insights about how their ads support their business goals. For example, brands can run Amazon Brand Lift (beta) studies to measure how their Amazon Ads campaigns impact brand awareness and purchase intent, based on aggregated and anonymized panel survey responses. This offers advertisers a fast, simple, and cost-effective means of measuring their marketing investments.

Starting today, panelists have a third option for participation: Ad Verification. By choosing to enable Ad Verification, panelists allow us to confirm which ads from Amazon they saw on their mobile device. This can include Amazon’s own advertising or ads from third-party businesses that advertise through Amazon Ads. Panelists who choose to enable Ad Verification earn monthly rewards. As is always the case with the Amazon Shopper Panel, Ad Verification is 100% opt-in and can be turned off at any time.

We take data security and privacy seriously—maintaining the trust we have with customers is extremely important. All information that participants choose to share as part of the Amazon Shopper Panel is handled in strict accordance with our privacy notice, and panelists have complete control—we only receive information they explicitly choose to provide, and panelists always have the option to delete receipts or stop participating. When a panelist deletes a receipt within the app, any receipt information in our system is also deleted.

The Amazon Shopper Panel is available to a limited number of Amazon customers; Ad Verification is available to panelists in the US, CA, DE, ES, FR*, and the UK at this time.
